Chair Talk

December 2022

Well, here we are ending another strange year. COVID-19 is still here with many new variants that are requiring us to take more boosters/shots to fight off the disease. It’s my belief that the COVID-19 boosters will be another annual vaccination just as the flu shot is.

Hopefully no State Retirees have been influenced by all the mailings and TV ads about other MMA plans that offer so much more than the State Health Plan that we currently have. If, by chance, a state retiree does sign up with another health plan it may take months to get back with our State Health Plan. Be careful what you do. If you have questions call Blue Cross, Employee Benefits or your SERA Chapter insurance representatives.

Let’s all take a few moments to remember, and pray for those friends, neighbors and relatives that we have lost in the past couple of years to Covid, accidents and other diseases, as well as natural causes. Each one of those people touched our hearts in so many ways that we should have great memories of them all.

For your information: I am not on Facebook, twitter, tik tok or any social media. If you get a friend request from anyone claiming to be me, delete it. I know all my grandchildren by name and birthdate and if they need money, or gift cards they ask face to face. I will not ask anyone to send me gift cards for any reason. Be careful and stay safe.
