Subject: New ORS Executive Director

It is my pleasure to announce to you that Anthony Estell has been selected to serve as the next director of the Office of Retirement Services.  Anthony is a demonstrated leader with over 22 years of experience in retirement, primarily as an integral part of the leadership team at ORS.  During that time, he has served in many roles across the organization, most recently as the director of Plan Development and Compliance.  He is experienced with the challenges of leadership in ORS, balancing the changing needs of our customers with the fiduciary responsibility of managing public trust resources.  He has effectively developed and maintained relationships with partners across and outside state government that have helped us be successful as an organization.

In addition to his experience, Anthony has excellent educational and professional credentials, earning his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. He also holds a Certificate of Achievement in Public Plan Policy in Employee Pensions and Healthcare and a Retirement Plan Associate designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, as well as a Certified Retirement Counselor designation from the International Foundation for Retirement Education.
